​Please consider membership with Temple Shalom.  Membership in Temple Shalom shows solidarity with the Jewish community of central Washington as well your willingness to support the congregation, helping to pay for the rabbi and the upkeep of the synagogue building.

Temple Shalom’s fiscal year begins in September and members are asked to complete a pledge form each year.  This form has “suggested" membership levels, and most of our members pay at those levels.   However, not all members have the ability to do that, and so these are suggested amounts only.   Each member is asked to search his/her conscience and pledge an amount which is workable for that member.  All amounts so pledged are held in strict confidence.   Members are billed on a quarterly basis for amounts which are due on their pledges.   

Some privileges that membership status provides are being able to use the synagogue building for lifecycle events and voting at membership meetings.   Yartzeits for family members are listed in the newsletter and read at Shabbat services.  Perhaps the most important benefit is knowing that you are helping to maintain Judaism in the greater Yakima – Ellensburg area.
